Can I Ask you a Personal Favor?
Meet Hazel.
She is my niece, and GodDaughter.
She was born on January 27th, 2012 when we all learned that she has Trisomy 21 (aka Down Syndrome), and would require surgery on her bowels and her heart. The first surgery went well (she was only a day old!), and next week she will undergo open heart surgery to repair a hole in her heart.
Since Hazel joined our family, she has really outdone herself. She is teaching all of us so much about love and compassion, and we are thankful to have her in our family. She enriches all of our lives.
If you want to meet her, you can do so here on her own blog, Chasing Hazel, where her Mom and Dad are raising awareness about what it is really like having a child with Down Syndrome (hint… it is pretty much exactly the same as having a baby that doesn’t have Down Syndrome!).
I wanted to post today because she is an important part of my life, and I wanted to introduce you to her and her blog.
I also ask that you keep her in your thoughts and prayers on Wednesday. We know everything will be fine, but you can never have too many prayers.
———-
But again – you should really meet her for yourself!
