Wisdom Wednesday ~ A Quote from Meister Eckhart
This quote from German philosopher/mystic Meister Eckhart (c. 1260 – c. 1327), really stood out to me today – which usually indicates that it is relating to my life in some way.
I understand the concept of detachment, and I am truly successful at it when it comes to business related matter – but when it comes to matters of the heart – of my family and friends – I find it much more difficult.
I think that perhaps I misinterpret the word. My reflex is to think of detachment as “not caring”, it is even described in the dictionary as “aloof”. But I tend to believe that there is a form of peaceful detachment – detachment with care.
This detachment is based from a space of compassion, and more than anything exists on the foundation that there is no need for me to worry because the Universe is taking care of things.
I hope you enjoy your Wednesday, and this reminder that detachment can bring you some serenity.
