Wisdom Wednesday ~ A Quote from the Tao Te Ching

I am still plugging away at the Tao Te Ching, after months of owning a copy. This, I suspect, is how most readers approach the book. Lao Tzu’s words are far beyond wise, and far beyond what they appear to be. This is why there are different interpretations of the book such as Wayne Dyer‘s version,”Living the Wisdom of the Tao”. My version is a new translation by Sam Hamill. I’d love to hear feedback about your favorite copy.

After my big announcement Monday, this particular quote from the Tao Te Ching seemed most appropriate and meaningful for Wisdom Wednesday. I believe sometimes philanthropic efforts of the best intentions can go wrong – if those behind the scenes are not coming from a space of authenticity, non judgment, and very simply – love.

It is very easy to become frustrated and jaded about the problems in the world. It is overwhelming. Lao Tzu’s words, “Truly, the greatest gift you have to give is that of your own self-transformation” feels very true to me. Once the foundation is built, the rest of the structure will fall into place much easier.

Happy Wisdom Wednesday! And thank you so much for the support :)
